Adobe Acrobat Reader not installed

Post by kimmerle.a » Wed Aug 17, 2011 9:37 am

We migrated our clients to windows 7 with Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.4.2.
Installation of EOLF V5 SP3.1 Thin Client failed with the message “Adobe Acrobat Reader not installed”
Before the migration we had Windows XP with Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3.0 and it worked.

epo support reported that there are often installation issues with different AAR versions.

@EOF development:
Is the AAR check absolute necessary?
Is it a good idea to remove the AR check from the installation process?

@community:
any workarounds (others than downgrading please)?

Dear kimmerle.a,

All versions Adobe reader versions, except Adobe reader 6.0 and 10.0.x, should work.

Please also check that in the settings of Adobe products (Adobe Acrobat Reader and/or Adobe Acrobat) the tickbox "Display PDF in browser" is ticked.
If not then the EPO Online filing is not able to use the reader which results in a "not installed" warning.
In case one also has the full Adobe Acrobat is installed then in the settings the tickbox in both products must also be ticked.

If this doesn't help then upgrading to Adobe reader 10.1 is an option.

For support please always contact support@epo.org.
