Re: PDF creation (Amyuni gone?)

In my experience there are several reasons to use either Amyuni or Acrobat compared to the many free PDF tools available out there, most of them are compatibility related. E.g. we recently had an application with a lot of mathematical formulas and not a single tool (e.g. Bullzip, DoPdf, FreePdf, Fox...

Re: No patch just fullfile update for V5SP3?

Okay, installed it last weekend. The real reason for the nonpatch approach was

Firebird database was changed from version 1.5.3.4870 to 2.1.3.18185

So everyone using a "gbak" script to backup the database, change your paths accordingly.

Re: No patch just fullfile update for V5SP3?

Dear Mr. Van Haken, thank you for the prompt answer. Sorry, that wasn't so obvious. So server installations need no patch, the "SP3" part of the full package released today is just the changed client, correct? And installed clients with lowered rights for software installations (no auto up...

Re: Database-Size

Dear Mr. Van Haken, thank you for the information on this topic. Certainly we all are aware of the design philosophy of the EPOline filing application. However as I noticed over the past few years people tend to see client-server architectures with a a database on the backend of the concept as a med...

Re: Database-Size

I chime in because we are in the same boat. Our database reached epic proportions over the past years, somewhat around 10GB and was significantly slowing down the clients despite being hosted on a potent machine. Manually exporting month per month was quite a chore after a while and I was looking fo...

Re: V5 experience anyone?

Good Morning everyone, so I did the upgrade which for the first time since the earliest version was completely flawless for the server part. Just bring enough time if your database is quite large. The "UPDATING FROM URPROFILE" ran around an hour for a 8GB net database on a decent server. T...

V5 experience anyone?

Hi everyone,

any experience with the upgrade from v4 to v5? Any known issues so far?

If not I'm going to be brave and upgrade this weekend.

Re: Unnatended Installation of Client

Dear Jemimus, i might have a solution yet not a real elegant one: - get the .MSI-editor called "orca" from the corresponding Microsoft SDK (Information und Dl-location here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255905) - load the olfclient400.MSi in orca and take out the entire connection dialo...
