Re: Error message: Query Killed

Hello Pardeep, from a computational point of view, using wildcards alongside words in title and abstract is a nightmare for the back end servers. When a query takes too much time to execute, then it is automatically aborted. That is what is happening here. Searching for '%rhamnolipid% takes longer t...

Re: East Germany inventors @ EPO

Or a financial one... I looked at all EP applications that had a DD priority that was filed before the German reunification (1990) This was the query I used: SELECT distinct app.[appln_id] ,app.[appln_auth] ,app.[appln_nr] ,app.[appln_kind] ,app.[appln_filing_date] ,app.[appln_nr_original] ,prior.[a...

Re: NACE2 codes and IPC codes updation

Hello Pardeep, The IPC/NACE concordance table is based on the work carried out for Eurostat in 2014. Here is the link to the background paper: 2014-10-16-Final IPC_NACE2_2014.pdf Every PATSTAT release will include an update of new patent applications according to the existing concordance table. In t...

Re: East Germany inventors @ EPO

Hello Gianluca,
Interesting question.
But a proof could be to check for EP applications (filed between 1979 - 1990) that have a DD priority, but no DD inventors/applicants. And then compare applicant/inventors countries.
Just an idea.

Re: Application authority of utility models & address information

Hello Carmen, It is important to remember that not all patent authorities have a "utility model" IP protection regime. EPO for one does not grant utility models, so your first query will not give any results because ipr_type=UM will not return an hits where a.appln_auth=EP. The second query is fine ...

Re: Query by “type” of applicant

Hello Telmo, in the tls206_person table you will find an attribute called PSN_SECTOR. This sector-isation approach is described in this document: https://circabc.europa.eu/sd/a/5b474c9c-3e8c-4070-82a4-1d0e234b3d58/COMPENDIUM%20PART%20II_Patent%20-%20WP_Sector%20allocation.pdf Your criteria can be ea...

Re: tls231_part01

Hello Leo,
we will look into that.
I don't think it is a problem with regards to the files, because all our users get the data from the platform, and we haven't heard anything on shifts of data.
But we will investigate it.
