can you post your SQL query that illustrates your observations ?

Re: Urgent Need! Search Codes for Transnational Cooperative Patents
Hello xunxunzi1999, below is a rather simple query that select patents where inventors have different country codes, according to your specifications. You have to keep in mind that this will only work well for those patents (and patent offices) where there are effectively country codes for the inven...

Re: PATSTAT Global bulk data - licensing of MS SQL Server
Hello Confusion, On (1): to use PATSTAT Global bulk, you will need to install the PATSTAT source files on some kind of data base platform. MSSQL is often used, but MySQL (and others) are also fine. Many universities use MySQL because MySQL is a free and open-source software under the terms of the GN...

Re: PATSTAT Autumn 2021 - Increase in number of English abstracts
The replenishing is done for each new PATSTAT release. The process is very simple: linking the EP application with the PCT via the internat_appln_id, and then duplicating the abstract data, making and extra link via the appln_id. There are however a limited number of linked PCT applications that do ...

Re: Something is wrong with my query... help needed :(
Hello Elisa, your first query is perfectly ok. You could have omitted the "AND appln_kind = 'A' -- exclude PCT filings where the EPO only served as the Receiving Office, utility models and design models" , but it does not harm. In older PATSTAT releases, this condition was necessary becaus...

Re: Displaying multiple inventors, applicants, IPC codes in same row (next to each other) rather than below each other
Hello Fabian, your question is rather a pure SQL question then a PATSTAT question. The PATSTAT data base is completely normalised, and what you want to do is basically a form of denormalization. This can be useful for reporting purposes (making more compact tables), but it makes it more difficult to...

Hello Fabian,
your query is fine;the regularity of data deliveries from certain offices is indeed not good.
Have a look here as well:

Re: German industrial robots
Hello Gunther, I assume you mean having "industrial robots" in the title for patents filed in Germany. You can simply add a condition that the the appln_auth = 'DE' and you will have only patents filed in Germany. Keep in mind that most patents filed in Germany will not have an English tit...

Re: Time window to control forward-citations
The query is based on data provided by OECD - which in its' turn is based on PATSTAT data. The EPO can not assist you with support on those tables. To create user defined tables (as is the case in this query) also requires you to have access to the data on a local DB platform - or at a minimum a sam...
