advice on querying DE biblio data

Post by jalipert » Tue Jan 16, 2018 8:21 pm

Hi Vesna and team,

Do you have advice on best practice for querying biblio data for German (DE) patents?

I'm unable to find biblio data for many publications using any of the API endpoints, here are a couple examples to try:
DE60323386D1
DE50107480D1

Thanks!
Joe

Dear Joe,

D1 are announcements of granted EP’s in German Bulletin and since 2011 we don’t load those anymore because the format of delivered data has changed so much.
But even if you would be looking for older D1’s you will not find biblio of those in Espacenet/OPS so easily. You can only see them in OPS family service and Inpadoc legal status. The reason for that is that OPS Published services and Espacenet only load biblio of real publications which a D1 is not.

You can probably get those it easiest by using DPMAconnect Web Services API if you are interested in biblo or you want to gather them in a patent family.

But if you want to see them in our webservice you will find it like this:
.../3.2/rest-services/family/publication/docdb/DE.50107480.D1/ (Inpadoc extended patent family of DE D1 – or if you would use other members of that family you will see that D1 too )

.../3.2/rest-services/family/publication/docdb/DE.50107480.D1/biblio (same but with biblio, but as mentioned above, we have limited biblio info because this was only an announcement in case of DE D1)

.../3.2/rest-services/legal/publication/docdb/DE.50107480.D1 (to get status on that DE D1 document)

.../3.2/rest-services/legal/publication/docdb/EP.1211548.A2 (to find INADOC legal event telling you that there is a DE D1 reference available)

I hope this helps,
