Appliant and inventor sometimes missing

Post by AlbertoCiaramella » Tue Sep 29, 2015 2:22 pm

Hello,
I found that, when accessed by OPS, some patents does not prove applicant, and some others do not provide inventor.
Examples of patents which do not provide the applicant when accessed through OPS are:
- CN102259965
- DE3801298
- IT1254433
Example of patents which do not provide the inventor when accessed through OPS are;
. AT8856
. BE766309
. JP2012046747
Moreover, Espacenet provides these data.
Thank you and best regards

Dear Alberto,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Some publications do show inventors and/or applicants in espacenet and not in OPS: when espacenet does not find an applicant or inventor for the requested publication, the search engine will retrieve the information from another publication of the same publication cycle (or same simple family). If you look for the full cycle on OPS, you will also get the missing information.

For the specific numbers: DE3801298 and IT1254433 will be corrected. AT8856 and BE766309 are old documents and the fields are simply missing. For JP2012046747 the data is also missing in Espacenet. For CN102259965 check the full cycle please.

I hope this answers your question,
Kind regards
OPS support
