Hello,
I had difficulties on providing search query from beta-version on the following question: how many European applications and European patents were published in 2016 where the applicants are from Slovenia.
In current Espacenet I used the following query: pd= 2016 and pn=ep and applicant=[SI].
I could not get those results from beta-version. In advanced search it is not possible to enter applicants country (just his name) and the filter (applicant country) does not show the results of Slovenian applicants at all.
I would ask you for explaining me how to deal with such question.
Kind regards,
Helena Zalaznik

Re: Applicant country
You can use the filter to EXCLUDE enough countries until the SI appear and then apply and remove the exclusion - Final result would be
https://worldwide.espacenet.com/beta/se ... pn%3Dep%20
https://worldwide.espacenet.com/beta/se ... pn%3Dep%20

Re: Applicant country
Dear users you, may also use a simple trick:
1. make a search that retrieves SI applicants: e.g. pn=SI and simply select the item SI that is listed high up in the filter "Applicants -country" for this query: https://worldwide.espacenet.com/beta/se ... &q=pn%3DSI
2. Change your search to what you originally wanted to search n.b. the filter *Applicants - country* remains. ie. pd=2016 and pn=ep: https://worldwide.espacenet.com/beta/se ... %20pn%3Dep

Re: Applicant country
Is then there is no way to formulate the applicant country search in a single query (without manually using the filter menus or other tricks)?

Re: Applicant country
In new Espacenet this function is only possible via the filter function. However this is not a real disadvantage, since the filter remains also for the next search until removed by the user. Hence this is just a different way to formulate the query. Moreover this approach has the advantage that the user gets a statistical evaluation of the applicant countries in the result set, without having to query each country individually.
