BUG REPORT: Claims

Post by claessen » Sun Jan 03, 2016 6:35 am

Dear OPS Team,

I really like your OPS service. I would like to point out a bug in the system. Some claims are not available in the OPS system but are available via espacenet. Example:

http://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicat ... cale=en_EP

http://ops.epo.org/rest-services/publis ... .A2/claims

I understand that espacenet and OPS are interlinked and use the same original data source. So there must be some bug preventing the OPS system to access some of the claims from espacnet.

Best regards,

Rolf Claessen

Dear Rolf

I only see this forum entry today, sorry. I will post my reply sent to you by email for other users:

As far as your query, if you have a better look at Espacenet link that you sent you will see that claims in this document belong to A9 and not A2.

And if you have a look at OPS you will see that we do have those same claims, but for that your query has to be as follows:
http://ops.epo.org/rest-services/publis ... .A9/claims

One more remark, although it is true that OPS is in fact feeding Espacenet with its data you have to be aware that due to certain copy right issues we are not allowed to display all full text (Claims and Descriptions) that you find in Espacenet also in OPS. See FAQ where is described which collections are available in OPS: http://www.epo.org/searching/free/ops/faq.html#faq-74

Kind regards,
OPS support
