Please let me know if and where the following are available in new Espacenet:
1. Searching in an exact CPC group (i.e. not "low").
2. Copying CPC to search form.

Re: Classification Search Features
Thank you for your great suggestion to put these functionalities in new Espacenet. We have included it for evaluation and prioritisation into our change management process and hope that we can improve the situation in the future.
Kind regards

Re: Classification Search Features
Dear user,
We would also like to explain to you that the functionalities, which you mentioned, are indeed not present in the classification search area anymore as proposed in classic Espacenet, but that you can nevertheless achieve the same functionalities in the following way:
1. With regards to the use of /exact, you can actually search "exactly" for a classification symbol at sub-group level in Smart search or Advanced search, as long as you don't add /low at the end of the symbol.
As an example run today:
You might also be interested to know that it is also possible to select one or more classification symbols (CPC or IPC) in the Filters area and click on the button "+ query" to have the selected classification symbols added in the search forms. The selected symbols are then added to the existing query, combining the symbols with the rest of the query with the "AND" operator.
Once run, all queries can be retrieved again in "My Espacenet - My queries" for further later uses.
We hope that these explanations might be useful to you. Don't hesitate to come back to us if you have any further questions.

- cpc=H01S3/03 gave 870 results and searched "exactly" for this symbol and not any sub-level.
- cpc=H01S3/03/low gave 5214 results, because it also searched for all sub-levels (H01S3/0305, H01S3/031, H01S3/035, etc.).

Re: Classification Search Features
I am also interested in searching "exact" classifications and was glad to read the instructions on how to do that. But why is the result set different in "Classic" as compared with "New" Espacenet?
For example:
---------------
In "New":
cpc=F26B3/02 gives a result of 1,216.
In "Classic" (going from the Classification Search) :
F26B3/02/exact gives a result of 1,869.
Thank you.

Re: Classification Search Features
Dear user,
in both classic and new Espacenet the number of results corresponds to the number of patent families found. Classic Espacenet did not pre-aggregate the data and used an approximation approach to estimate the number of patent families based on the number of publications: This number is however not exact and therefore the word "approximately" has been added. When you scroll through the results, you see that once reaching 500 results the number drops in classic Espacenet already to 1549.
New Espacenet's data model allows to retrieve the exact number of families at once. It also allows you to see more than 500 results.
Before scrolling through large lists in new Espacenet it however recommendable to sort the result list according to publication date first. This will allow you to refine your query (using the publication date) and go through the results batch per batch in case you hit a limit (e.g. downloading result lists, or frontpages). This batch per batch approach will not be possible in case you go through the list with the default sorting by relevance.
