CQL syntax and txt index fields of application

Post by AstriumServices » Tue Mar 11, 2014 2:10 pm

Dear OPS support,

In your last version 3.1 of OPS RESTful Services documentation, the CQL Chapter details CQL syntax and related index for searching content based on keyword, applicant, number, etc..
I do understand that full-text search using txt CQL index is only applicable to tittle, abstract, inventor and applicant. Do you confirm ?
Do you plan to extend the application of this CQL index to the full description and the claims?

If not, is there any work around to perform a full-text search using OPS RESTful Services as already expressed in previous posts ?

Thanks

Dear user,

CQL search (same as Smart search in Espacent) is a function that only works in OPS Published services with biblio constituent. this is also a reason why this search is only searching information in biblio of any patent publication (which in reality would be all text and dates on the first page of patent publications. So, claims, description, search report....are all NOT available for full text searching).

I am sure that with introduction of more and more full text collection in character-coded format we will one day have possibility of offering full text search for complete publication, but there are no concrete plans at the moment and we do only have such collections for 6 countries out of over 90 that we cover.

PS: post from 2010 linked in your post is obviously wrong, not OPS or Espacenet had ever had a possibility of a proper full text search, it was biblio (which includes, titles, names, dates and abstract-if any available) since the beginning.

Kind regards,
OPS support
