The EPO has started to provide linked open data on European patents and applications and on the technical classification scheme CPC to the public free of charge, allowing academics, companies, data scientists or web developers to combine patent data with other information more easily.

Thanks for setting up this new board. Is there additional information available on the linked open data that has been published? I'm looking for something like URLs, manuals, or examples how the data could be used.
Thanks,
Frank Langlotz

Dear Frank,
You can access the Linked open EP data services
here and under "Getting started" on the overview page, you will find the relevant user manual.

Dear team,
It seems as if the link to the user guide in
http://www.epo.org/searching-for-patent ... html#tab-1 is wrong. Clicking the link to the user guide opens a new tab, but does not seem to be able to actually download the .pdf file.
Regards,
Gerben

Dear Frank,
You are right:
http://www.epo.org/searching-for-patent ... html#tab-1 refers you to a web page, where at the very bottom you will find a link to the User Guide.
We did not link directly to the User Guide document because it is managed by a content management system and the document link is incomprehensible and might change any time.
Enjoy reading,
Martin
