EPO Smart Card Drivers on M1 Apple Silicon MacBooks

Hi. Please can you confirm whether the EPO Smart Card Drivers will work with Apple MacBooks with the Apple Silicon ARM based CPUs, running MacOS 11.0 Big Sur or later. These computers do have not Intel compatible x86 chips and it isn't clear whether the cryptovision sc/interface 7.3.2 Cryptographic software will still run using the x86 emulation layer offered by MacOS 11.0.

After testing, it appears that the current drivers DO NOT support Apple's newest Apple Silicon Macs.

For those that may be interested, the solution identified with the IT support was to install a pre-Apple Silicon version of Firefox and use the latest drivers.

i.e.
Install cryptovision sc/interface 8.0 drivers on Big Sur.
Download and install the old Firefox v83.
Disable automatic updates on Firefox.
Then install the Gemalto PC Twin Reader module in Firefox in the usual way.

This works.

I have used Firefox v83 with Macbook Air M1 and Mac OS Big Sur.
However, after upgraded to Monterey, Firefox freezes and I have to "Force Quit".
Tried Firefox v84, v93 and even reinstall v83. V83 continues freezing and on v84 and v93 the smart card does not work (error message: "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied").

Is there anyone with the same problem? Was it possible to solve it?

I am running Firefox v83 on M1 Monterey without any problems, so it is possible. Try starting Firefox v83 in safe mode to ensure it is not an extension that is making it crash. I don't expect newer versions of Firefox to work until new cryptovision drivers arrive.

We have used it multiple times to resolve problems in Windows, Macintosh and even Linux/Ubuntu.

Secondly updated installation instructions have also been uploaded as well.

In Windows, it will allow your card to be read even without configuring Firefox.
In Macintosh, it will support up to the latest MacOS 12 (Monterrey) and even the M1 (with latest Firefox)
