Error in query with Publication Date and different results

Post by i3Code » Thu May 07, 2015 2:26 pm

Hi,
I have two questions:

1)
We have an application where we use the date interval in the query like this

Code: Select all

pd=2010,2020
We think that since the last update on April it does not work. To make it work we must change the Publication Date parameter to this one:

Code: Select all

pd="2010 2020"
Is this an error or the first way to search by Publication Date will not be able any more?

2)
We have also detected different search results between the web search and the OPS service. Here are both URLs we get:
Web
OPS service
As you can see, the search terms are:
Title or abstract: (elevator OR lift) AND (Lithium OR "Li-Ion")
Publication date: 2010:2020
IPC: B66B

Through the web, we get 9 results and through the service we get only 2 results and furthermore totally different. Are we doing anything wrong?

Thanks in advance.
Regards

Dear user,

You get different results in OPS because your search query is not the same.

In Espacenet you search within abstract and title but in OPS you search only within abstract. To search abstracts and titles in OPS you need to search using "ta" field identifier and not "ab" only.

Your OPS search should actually look like this:
http://ops.epo.org/3.1/rest-services/pu ... 0(ic=B66B)

As far as ranges in OPS; this is an issue that we are working on at the moment, in the future all the date ranges available in Espacenet should also be available in OPS (see Espacenet Help files for details on available date ranges). We hope to fix that by the time of the next maintenance release in OPS.

Kind regards,

OPS support
