While sending an application to EPO via the French Patent Office with the French SmartCard (INPI), we have received the following error message (copypaste hereafter).
The application has NOT been sent even after the 100% message appeared of the ending submission. We have tried several times without any sucess even after a reboot of the Server.
If anyone could help in this matter that would be of a great help as we did not receive any feedback yet from the French patent Office Helpdesk. No Application can be sent at that time.
Many thanks for your help
Regards
Florence

Re: Error storing BLOB files - Smartcard
The day after, I put the application back into Ready to Sign, sign it alphabetically, then succeed to send.
I have been called by the French Patent Office, but nobody knows about this error code and now the problem is solved but I don't know exalty why? Was it because of the Authorized representative card signature ? because of a ponctual issue that day ? I don't know.
Have a nice day

Re: Error storing BLOB files - Smartcard
Salut Flo,
There is a technical explanation for the error:
Blob store error indicates that either HEADER.dat or BLOB.dat can not be stored to database.
Reasons could be:
- insufficient disk space on file system;
- database unavailability;
- table locks in the database;
So it would mean that there was an issue on the receiving server and nothing on your side could have been done differently to prevent it.
Amicalement, Thorsten,

We hit the same Problem yesterday.
After about 20 Minutes the Problem seemed to be solved at epo.
Do we need to prepare for frequent Problems ?

Re: Error storing BLOB files - Smartcard
Dear Omega,
certainly not
It might interest you that we are monitoring our systems closely and your problem was also noticed on our side: there was a 15 minute outage which is estimated to have had an impact on about 25 users at this time of day. The cause has been identified and is being eliminated.
Please note that the original note in this forum was about the receiving server at the French Patent Office INPI and hence, the two incidences are unrelated.

Re: Error storing BLOB files - Smartcard
Hi
We experienced a blob error today just before 3 o'clock UK time. We managed to send the application about 10 mins later from another user. We were sending to the EPO.
Thorsten please can you confirm that there is nothing we need to do our end to prevent this from happening?
Many thanks
Kelly
