This works with V3. Only very few files oder registry-keys need admin-rights.
But you won't be able to file online with the smartcard.
The very old Gemsafe-Version that is provided does not work with TS.
(Blue Screen..., no access to ThinClients)
It seems we need a newer Version or the developers should use the "Microsoft-Way"

I was told there might be a Problem with the Corba-Connectionen on TS, but
this does not seems to be a problem in our environment.

So, I can use eOLF on Citrix only for preparing the application, not for signing or sending, isn't it ? The interest is very short.

Sending No.
Signing no, if you use smartcard-signature. Yes with alphanumeric signature.

eOLF and Citrix

Post by Anne » Tue Aug 28, 2007 7:52 am

Hi,

I have been told that the eOLF is not supported for Citrix.
We will be eOLF users from January 2008 and we are using Citrix.

In a message posted in the Forum May 2006, I read that installation on Terminal server is possible by giving some files and registry keys admin rights, but because of the old Gemsafe-version sending and signing with smart card is not possible. Do anyone know if the GemSafe is updated since may 2006? Is it possible to send and sign in August 2007?

We are now filing with citrix.
The reason, that it is not supported seems to be, that the corba-protocol used does not work very will with terminal servers and that the gemsafe libraries included on the cd are just to old.

The Corba-Problem seems to be no Problem in our case, but you really need to get updated gemsafe-libraries. But Epo really is stuck with old and problematic Versions (see amyuni-pdf-converter).

We use newer Gemsafe_Libraries and now can even file with our linux-based Thinclients.

Citrix vs. EPO Online filing

Post by Anne » Mon Sep 10, 2007 11:32 am

Thank you for quick answer.
What do you mean 'we use newer Gemsafe_libaries'? Do you use something else?
I think 4.2 is the latest Gemsafe version. Will this run with the EPO software? I suppose we have to by this version or upgrade from 3.2.5 if possible.

Newer than the Version that I know to be shipped by epa.
We use 4.2 sp3 and this works.
But I have not seen it on CD from EPO.

Online filing and Citrix

Post by Anne » Fri Nov 16, 2007 2:14 pm

Hi again,

We have received a new version og GemSafe from EPO...Jippi!
We are running on terminal server and Citrix. The servers is outside the office buliding and we are going through firewals when connecting. Our IT-supplier are not sure how to make the EPO online software reade the Smart Card connected to a local computer. The USB port (Card) is not visible in the citrix environment. Do you have any technical description on how to solve this. Thank you.

Best regards
Anne

I can only give a few hints.

- Smartcard usage is done by the Citrix-Client itself. THis is a client-setting. Usage on the Server is easier with newer Citrix-Versions.
- Driver for Card-Reader need to be on the Workstation
- Sometimes you need to force the usage of the Gemsage libraries by setting
HKLM\Software\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_DLLs\Smart Card Hook\SpecialDllSearch
Just try the gemsafe diagnostics and see http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX102874&searchID=-1
- The Gemsage 4.2.0 SP4 provided seems to be a client setup. The full-version can make a setup for Citrix. I don't know if this is neccesary, I haven't tried the EPO-Version and I really don't if the special-setup really does more than the normal-Version
