Espacenet claim tree algorithm

Espacenet offers the option to visualize the claim tree of a patent. Which algorithm does it use to produce the tree? Is it somewhere available for the public or can you please bring me into contact with the person responsible? I want to use the algorithm for my master thesis. thank you

Dear Andrèe,
First of all - thanks for sharing the basics on how the claim-tree algorithm works.
Still, the algorithm seems not to work if instead of "
Anspruch" the claims are worded as "
Patentanspruch". For example, consider the following patent document with regard to their german set of claims:
EP1538277B1.
Maybe this could be added as additional rule for the parser?
