Excel XML
Excel XML
Hello team,
I am trying to do the statistical analysis in excel by exporting the GPI data as XML, but I cannot display it correctly in Excel. I would also like to analyze them in Power BI, but I don't know how to import them to visualize them correctly. Somebody could help me?
Thank you,
Alicia

Re: Excel XML
Dear Alicia,
Could you please indicate the columns included in your result list?
Do you open the XML under Excel using the option "Open as XML table"?
This is what we get when using the columns Publication and Inventor (e.g. EP 2111865 A1 is present 4 times because it has 4 inventors):
Publication p
EP 1976217 A1 20081001 GEORGE RICHARD
EP 1976217 A1 20081001 LEE DALSU
EP 2107492 A1 20091007 OE NAOYUKI
EP 2107492 A1 20091007 SHIMA TAKAHIRO
EP 2107492 A1 20091007 MATSUMOTO YOSHIYUKI
EP 2107492 A1 20091007 SHIMA HIROKI
EP 2107492 A1 20091007 MINAMII YUSUKE
EP 2107492 A1 20091007 TAKEDA TAKAHIRO
EP 2111865 A1 20091028 TOKUDA MASAAKI
EP 2111865 A1 20091028 IZUMORI KEN
EP 2111865 A1 20091028 TOYODA YUKIYASU
EP 2111865 A1 20091028 MIWA ICHITOMO
We will try to make tests with Power BI.

Thank you for your quick response.
I would like to build a collaboration network diagram in Power BI, How would you have to enter the data to build the network?
Thank you

Re: Excel XML
Dear Alicia,
Unfortunately we don't have Power BI in our default software package - is it correct to assume that your result list download includes e.g. publication numbers + applicants ?

Hello,
Yes, I'm including publication number + application.
How can I build a node collaboration? Is any tool?
Thank you

Re: Excel XML
Dear Alicia,
You may want to have a look at the GPI cross reference charts where you can select Applicant on the X and Y axis - the bubble chart shows the top 20 applicants.
Would this help?

Re: Excel XML
Dear Alicia,
We managed to make a quick test last week with Power BI Desktop.
To exchange information on this topic more effectively, could you please send an email to support@epo.org (mentioning "GPI" in your email subject) ?
We would then explain which format to use when downloading a GPI result list
Thank you in advance,
