Family in a specific patent on Espacenet: It could be incorrect

Post by Alberto231 » Wed Oct 17, 2018 4:51 pm

Hi,

In Espacenet the recently published document https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publica ... 77A1&KC=A1
( i.e. the document WO2018157077 (A1) ― 2018-08-30. ) provides access to other documents of the same family, but the family does not seem a family in the strict sense used by Espacenet.

I ask if there is a reason (and in this case what) or if there is a mistake in this specific case.

Thank you and best regards

Dear Albert,

We had a look at the simple patent family of the application in your thread and we can confirm that the family is built correctly.
Both WO’s claim one and the same US provisional application and are therefore part of the DOCDB simple patent family that can be found under “Also published as” in Espacenet .

If you would like learn know more about rules for building a DOCDB simple patent family, you will find some helpful information here.
