Dear users,
The Indian Patent Office has recently published a draft version of the amended Patent Rules. Among the new features are for example the introduction of expedited examination which can be filed under certain conditions. Furthermore, the time for putting an application in order for grant will be reduced from 12 months to 4 months with a possible extension of 2 months. The amendments are also taking into consideration the increasing demand for digitalised documents and several amended rules reflect this trend.
