Is a Developement System available or planned?

Post by Chris Every » Wed Sep 04, 2013 5:52 pm

We develop test driven, as such we make heavy usage of unit and integration tests. In conjunction with our Jenkins server this may produce load on your side and it consumes our quota. For our unit tests we use moquito* so that theses tests do not contact your server.

But to test if we are using OAuth the right way or if we parse your response in a right way, we need some integration tests. So we are wondering if there is a development server we could use for this purpose.

For such a system it would be sufficient to have some fake patent families and only a few, say not more than 100. Having some patent families in that system that bear exceptions when calling them would be nice for border and exception testing.

In short,
- the plus for you would be that we do not stress your productive system
- the plus for us would be that we do not consume our quota

Is this considered on your side or could we somehow encourage such a step?

Kind Regards
-- Chris

* As I am not allowed to post links, google for mockito simpler better mocking ;)

Dear users,

There is no public development system in place. At present, new/on-boarding developers do not represent the biggest problem when the system is overloaded. The biggest contributors to poor performance are the users who massively parallelise their queries and extract very large volumes of data.

But thank you very much for your suggestion. We will forward your email to our technical team for further consideration.

Kind regards,

OPS support

I would appreciate the suggestion of a separate integration test system.
