Is biblio data available for German design patents?

Post by jalipert » Tue Nov 08, 2022 5:30 am

We are having trouble retrieving biblio data for German design patents, e.g.,

DE50207450D1
DE50313191D1
DE502004004590D1
DE502004008949D1
DE502004010963D1
DE602004019451D1
DE602004020193D1

Is this due to a gap in coverage or is the an issue with the format of the document numbers above?

Thanks!

Hi

Espacenet/ OPS are prior art databases/services and therefor only load "real" publications. That means that announcements in Gazette, like D1, D0, A0 etc are not part of that collection because there is no original document available for such records. DE D1 are Gazette notifications about grant and not granted publications, so they will be excluded from prior art database coverage.

We will make an exception for our new EP C0's when first EP with Unitary effect will be available. C0's will be part of the prior art databases. But announcements like the one you are asking in your thread will not be loaded in Espacenet/OPS.

If you need a data set with complete biblio master (real publications and all Gazette and other notifications) you need to use DOCDB in XML or products based on DOCDB in XML (like GPI, PATSTAT)

I hope this explains it,

Regards,
Vesna for OPS support
