July 2020: ZA – Change of publication and application number

Please be advised of a correction of both publication and application/priority numbers for authority code ‘ZA’ published before 2000.
The change is being executed after analysis of the South African authority file.
The correction will have an impact on approximately 175 000 documents.
The change in number consists in deleting the leading zero after the year information.
Examples:
ZA6909273B became ZA699273B (for granted patents)
ZA6803428A became ZA683428A (for application/priority numbers)
