No images available for GB patents GB1605471 - GB2000000

Hi,

I've noticed that OPS does not have images of patents from aound GB1605471 to around GB2000000; I get a 404 error not found. Above 2 million is fine.

I've randomly checked some numbers and have seen that they are not available via espacenet either.

Is there a technical problem or is the coverage from UKIPO is incomplete?

Thanks.

Hi,

The only UK document with this numbers that I can find are applications and for those I see images in Espacenet and in OPS (OPS actually feeds Espacenet). For publications I don't find any entries with this number, not in UK's IPSUM or anywhere else. Please clarify what are those numbers exactly.

Right.

Start from here: this is GB1605470 =
https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publica ... 5470A&KC=A which exists in Espacenet and OPS.

Notice that this patent has an application date of 19700611 and appears to have been published in 2017-06-21. I am conjecturing that this is either a data error or it's a UKIPO secret patent that was published years after the application date, since it deals with firearms. If you take a look at Fig. 1 of GB1605470 it says GEHEIM.

Now, increase the Patent number from GB1605470 to GB1605471 you will not find it either in Espacenet or OPS.

Pick any patent number, randomly, between GB1605471 - GB2000000 and you will probably get a 404, e.g. search for patent GB1705471, GB1805471 and so on. These are all patent numbers that I am referring to.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks, I needed clarification if we are talking about application or publication numbers and that you gave me with your link.

I can see that it's not really only images missing but we are missing complete biblio which is a base to load any other part of the document, such as images. My problem is that I cannot find any of those documents in UKIPO's databases either, so I am not sure why that is. We will have to ask UKIPO to check if they have a gap in their data or if this data is still secret and is therefore missing in UKIPO and consequently in our coverage.

Those applications that you have found seem to be patent applications under section 22 of the Patents Act directions: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/manual-of-p ... -of-public and they seem correct as they are because such patents only get published once the directions are lifted (invention no longer considered a threat to national security etc...). It might take some time to find out more about the missing data so please bare with me. I will re-play onece UKIPO gets back to us on this
