OLF intermittently failing to open

I run OLF V5 on a standalone W7 PC, with the server & client seperately installed. Recently OLF has started to fail to open - the initial 'splash box' appears but does not progress from there until after a while W7 reports that OLF has stopped responding. After OLF has failed to open, when I shut down the computer I get a dialogue box reporting that some 'COM Objects' are still open/running.

The problem is inconsistent; some days OLF works fine, other days it fails to open. Also, after a failed start restarting the PC sometimes cures the problems, sometimes not.

Has anybody got any sugestions to fix this problem?
