When filling a request for an EP application, and completing the tab "States", I was asked whether I wanted to select some extension states.

I have chosen to select all countries, and I of course selected all states for the designation.

I saw that on the "Fee" tab, extension fees are checked while designation fees are not... Both fees can be paid until 6 months after publication of the search report... So why are extension fees checked while designation fees are not? Is it a bug?

Would it not be easier not to check any of these fees, since they are due only months after filing?

The new version 5.00 has addressed these concerns and implemented validation messages
instead of automatically checking options for you, so that nothing gets overlooked in the
process.
