PCT subventions

I am a Spanish university student and I'm going to apply for a PCT patent at EPO.
I wonder if there is some kind of subsidy or economic assistance for individual persons less than 25 years.
In Spain there are state subsidies to help pay different taxes of a national patent.

by EPO / Patent Information

As far as we are aware, for a Spanish student residing in Spain, filing a PCT application with the EPO as Receiving Office there are no reductions available.

However, there is a possible reduction available when entering the European phase under Rule 6 EPC and when requesting examination.

For confirmation and more information we kindly ask you to contact our specialists in legal and procedural matters at, who will be happy to provide you with more detailed information.

The national patent office (OEPM) has economic support for patent applications: national, European and pct applications .
