Positive aftermath of East meets West 2016

Post by EPO / Asia Info » Tue May 10, 2016 2:44 pm

Dear users,

We are happy to report that also in 2016, more than 100 patent information professionals from 25 countries in Asia and Europe attended our annual East meets West forum.

Ever since 2003, East meets West plays a major role in expanding Asian patent information services to European industry.

Delegates from the Japanese, the Chinese and the Korean patent offices highlighted recent progress with respect to the newly introduced opposition proceedings in Japan, upcoming changes in the Chinese patent law and dissemination of patent information in regards to open government initiative in Korea. Furthermore, Mr Andrey Sekretov from the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) provided detailed information on EAPO’s patent documents, publications and other sources of patent information concerning EAPO. Delegates from ARABPAT member countries were also present.

Last but not least, representatives from India and the EPO’s International Cooperation department informed the audience on the accomplishments of their respective bilateral collaboration and highlighted significant progress in regards to mutual data exchange. Traditionally participants also had the opportunity to join interactive round table and specialised stream discussions and engage in one-on-one talks with Asian experts.

We have now uploaded all presentations onto the "East meets West" 2016 forum website. These include the presentations from the plenary session and the streams as well as flipchart protocols of the discussion rounds. You will find them all linked from the programme section at: http://www.epo.org/learning-events/even ... ramme.html

If you have missed East meets West 2016, why not join us next year? Sign up for our mailing list, to get an early notification on next year’s date and preliminary programme at asiainfo@epo.org
