Post by EPO / Asia Info » Thu Jan 18, 2018 2:25 pm

Dear users,

As in the previous years, the EPO will organise a two-day forum on Asian patent information in Vienna on 19 and 20 April 2018. Also this year Asian delegates will come to Vienna to share cutting edge technological developments in patent information in their patent offices. Besides China, Japan and Korea, participants will have a chance to talk face to face with the representatives from South Africa, Russia, Iran, India and Arab region.

In addition to the actual event, there will be optional seminars and a workshop in the run-up to the forum. Commercial providers of Asian patent information will have the opportunity to present their products and services in a poster exhibition and in short product presentations in the area of machine supported technologies. The programme and further information can be found on the East meets West webpages https://www.epo.org/learning-events/eve ... ramme.html.

Discussion rounds will provide an opportunity for in-depth discussions on a variety of topics, such as “crowd searching”, “patents and standards” and recent developments in selected jurisdictions.

Please register nowhttps://www.epo.org/learning-events/eve ... ation.html to secure your place at the table of your choice with a nominated expert from a patent office or industry.

Registration will close on Wednesday, 21 March 2018!

To register for regular e-mail updates on the upcoming event or in case of further questions related to the event, please contact asiainfo@epo.org.

We are looking forward to having you with us here in Vienna!

With kind regards,

Dear users,

EPO’s annual East meets West 2018 forum will take place as every year in Vienna on 19 and 20 April 2018!

The event preparations are in full speed underway and we as conference organisers would like to keep you updated with new information and important event developments.

During our two-day event, you will get an update on hot topics such as

• Artificial Intelligence – Role and impact on Asian patent information searching
• Crowd searching – experiences, advantages and risks?
• IP in the context of China’s “Belt and Road” initiative

To find out more, have a look at the programme http://www.epo.org/learning-events/even ... ramme.html! It has already been confirmed that our conference schedule will include speakers from the Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian Patent Offices.

Furthermore, this year - for the first time in the history - of our East meets West forum, you will have the chance to listen to a presentation of the head of the CIPC Patent Office and to learn more about the current patent system and procedure in South Africa.

Besides delegates from patent offices, we have invited patent information specialists from Iran to discuss with you the challenges of retrieving patent information from their jurisdiction.

After listening to the technical and legal content during the first conference day, you will certainly appreciate our evening event at a traditional Austrian vineyard, Melkerhof. In a relaxing atmosphere, you will have a chance for further networking with other participants and experts.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you who are interested in the latest developments in Asian patent information – which is needed more and more in industry, but also in the legal profession and academia.

Please register now http://www.epo.org/learning-events/even ... ation.html or send us your questions at asiainfo@epo.org
