Hey,
I need to search patents with a specific range of classifications.
For example all classifications between H01L21/30 and H01L21/388.
Is there a query for a range like this?
Something like ipc=H01L21/30-H01L21/388, so I can cover the whole H01L21/3? area.
Best regards,
Jpatent

Re: Search for a range of classifications
Dear user,
The OPS manual (page 118ff)
http://documents.epo.org/projects/babyl ... 3.6_en.pdf
suggests that you use the depth parameter to specify how many levels of children of the requested classification symbol should be included into the response.
Requesting "depth" > 1 (more than one) or "all" is allowed only if the requested symbol belongs to a level > 5.
x = numeric value or "all" for the retrieval of all children of the given classification.
GET http://ops.epo.org/rest-services/classification/cpc/[classification-symbol]?depth=x
Accept: application/cpc+xml
Kind regards,

Re: Search for a range of classifications
Dear support,
How do I use "depth" in a search like http://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services/pu ... ata/search
I tried
http://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services/pu ... epth%3Dall
But I get a 404 Not Found
How do I search for patents with the ipc G02F1 and all its children between G02F1/00 - G02F1/095
Thank you,
jpatent

Re: Search for a range of classifications
Dear user,
My apologies. I gave you indications on how to look for the classifications but you want the patents.
Please try with this query for guetting patent numbers in all the sub-classes of H01L21/30:
http://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services/pu ... 0H01L21/30
(OPS manual page 138).
Please note that the default display in OPS only shows the first 25 results, but if you want to see more, you can change the range parameter at the end of the URL ("&Range=xx-xx"). You can download batches of up to 100 results at a time:
http://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services/pu ... ange=1-100
(OPS manual page 59).
OPS can only display a total of 2 000 results. If there are more than 2 000 hits in your results list, you will have to limit your search query to reduce the number of results.
Kind regards,
