Searching for granted patents without the translations

Hello. I am searching for newly granted patents (using ISG=YES) and DFE=(201706,201709), but this seems to include translations (T3 publications) in the results. I only want the granted EP. How can I do this? Thanks.

Dear All,

Assuming that you want to see only EP B1 in your result list, I see 2 possibilities:

- Use PUC (publication country), PUD (publication date), and PUK (publication kind) in your queries, e.g. PUC=EP and PUD[201706,201709] and PUK=B1 and ...

- Use the product "EP full-text search" (free of charge) available in the same user interface, unless your GPI queries use search criteria not available in "EP full-text search", e.g. CPC. Searching granted EP in "EP full-text search" is as above: PUD[201706,201709] and PUK=B1 and ...

Best regards,

Patrick

Thanks. In fact I want to retrieve all new patents (not just EP) which were first added to the DB in the specified three-month period. But not the EP translations, because these are not new patents. Is there a way of doing this? Thanks.

Dear Jern,

In that case you may use PUK (publication kind code) to exclude documents as follows (assuming that publications which are translations have the kind code, e.g. T, T3, etc.) :

ISG=YES and DFE[201706, 201709] andnot PUK=T* and ...

Best regards,

Patrick
