Smart Car not recognised issues

Post by westgateit » Mon Nov 24, 2008 6:04 pm

Hello all.

I have a user who is having issues using there EPO online filling software via Terminal Services.

The user is receiving an error in the bottom right hand corner saying that the smart card is not recognised when the user clicks on the EPO icon. The main login screen still appears at the user is still able to log in, but is unable to send any files.

Now the interesting thing is that the user is able to use the smart card and reader fine when using it locally rather than over terminal services.

There are up-to-date drivers on the terminal server and smart card readers are selected in the RDP window as a local resource to transfer across.

Any ideas guys and girls??

This is probably a very late reply. As a result of the present development and resource issues,
our support for working under teminal services, Citrix services and the like are either none
existent or very limited. There are a few companies who have successfully done this, so we
know that it can work. The sticking point is mostly the smart card reader which is primarily set to
work locally. However, if you have our most recent cards cards (ie issued after November 2007)
then you can use the GemSAFE version 5.1 (Contact out Procedural and Technical Support) which
is more supportive of terminal services, and also enable the Smart cards under Local Resources>Local Devices,
You are more likely to succeed.
