Smartcard and individual developed PMS

Post by pzypher » Mon Aug 09, 2021 3:02 pm

Hello,

following scenario:

We are developing an individual patent management system and want to file online via that software. Our PMS ist web based, so it's running on an external server (not in-house).

First question: I read that it's necessary to work with a smartcard that has to be connected to the computer that works with the EPO interface. We are not able to connect the smartcard to the server, so what should we do?

Second question is: The server is Linux based but all executables are Exes (for Windows), so how can solve this problem?

Thanks!

Christian

Dear pzypher ,

Sorry for the extremely late reaction. You are better off contacting the EPO support at support@epo.org
for answers.

In any case.

The Online Filing software is fully and only Windows based, we do not have versions for any other operating system. We however, have a web based version called the Online Filing 2.0. Accessed via smart card.

On a server, you can also install the cryptovision smart card interface software and connect a smart card reader to read a smart card.

Hope this helps
