Technical Neccesity Upgrade to v5

Hello and Greetings,

Our Patent administration department has asked us to upgrade to v5
I would like to get an idea of how nessesary it is to upgrade, from a technical or functional point-of-view. Though we wish to service our users, our IT department is currently under time-constraints, and I need to get a good idea of how critical, or non-critical it is to upgrade at this time.

I have not been able to find any news item on the EPO site that really explains about the features and functionality of the new version. I only spotted a news item pointing to the download. Did I miss something?

As to the timing aspect - the next update for 1 April 2010 with procedural changes and new fees will only be applicable to version 5.
