The document does not come as it is B1 or A2

Post by mksoftware » Thu May 11, 2017 8:19 am

We try to retrieve data from OPS for EP2463603.
However, we cannot drain neither B1 nor A3 document.
Below is the link which shows the available documents for EP2463603.
http://ops.epo.org/3.1/rest-services/pu ... 3/abstract
We receive the below message once we try to retrieve data.
<fault xmlns="http://ops.epo.org">
<code>SERVER.EntityNotFound</code>
<message>No results found</message>
</fault>

http://ops.epo.org/3.1/rest-services/pu ... escription > B1 description
http://ops.epo.org/3.1/rest-services/pu ... .b1/claims > B1 claims

I would appreciate your kind help about this matter.

Hi,

There seem to be an issue with loading B1 document in v 3.2 so I've asked out team to see why the documents is not loaded in a character-coded format. But in v 3.1 that you are using you will never find any B1 full text (description, claims) anyway. So please, migrate to official production version which is v 3.2.

As far as A3 document, which is a search report, that one does not have any claims and description included so no entity found error message is really correct in that case,

Once we load B1 I will let you know and you will be able to get the text, but as said, only via V 3.2

Hi

I also tried to retrieve data from OPS using v 3.2. for the below EP numbers but the problem still remains.
For instance, I can see A1 and B1 documentation for EP2456627 on Espacenet but not on OPS.

I would appreciate your kind help in order to sort out this problem.

Meanwhile, I am going to upgrade to v 3.2. immediately.

EP files tested with v 3.2.
EP1814850
EP2419558
EP2463603
EP2456627
EP2021707

Best regards,

Thank you for your examples, but its still the same issue as when you first reported it. Our team is looking at it and when I have more information I will let you know.

The only workaround for now is in case of loading just few document is to use European Patents Search tool or European Publication Server. Both tools can be accessed via our EPO homepage.

After checking with the department in charge we can confirm that in cases where B3 and B1 exists at the same time, the database loads last added B document only and that is a B3. When you want to have B1 full text, so text before the changed granted version (B3) you will need to look it up in European Publication Server and use theri web service to download it there.

Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the database and at this point this cannot be changed.

There were two B1 numbers in your list that were missing although there was no B3, they are missing by mistake and will be re-triggered and added now,

For the future, when you are not sure what publication step we have in a database, just do a search using Epodoc format without a kind code and you will get existing full text:
http://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services/pu ... 850/claims

or like this.
http://ops.epo.org/3.1/rest-services/pu ... 3/fulltext

And if full text is not in OPS, use European Publication Server;http://www.epo.org/searching-for-patent ... /help.html
