Unregistered users Version 3.2

Post by Romina Mossi » Tue Dec 05, 2017 10:26 pm

Dear OPS Team

According to your message anonymous access to OPS was removed with version 3.2, which was set into production in Janura 2017.
However, an anonymous access was still possible until these days. Today (or yesterday?) all of sudden not anymore.
Can you please explain why this is happening, or when exactly anonymous access was prohibited?

Thank you vey much in advance!

Hi,

In 3.2 anonymous usage was never possible.

If you've used OPS anonymously you were doing it either via ops.epo/ or ops.epo/3.1. Both link to 3.1 which is outdated OPS version. This is old OPS version is no longer updated and is missing quite some data only available in production version. 3.1 will also be shut down very soon. I urge all users to follow up all announcement that we post here and to act on time as requested in these notifications.

I suspect you were loading image data from old outdated OPS. This was still possible until recently when we had to suppress it there as well due to abuse from some users.

I would suggest that you migrate to 3.2 as mentioned in all notifications in this forum and do that right away especially if you load image data.

Regards,
OPS support

HI again!
I wanted to test 3.2 at the URL given in your comment at https://www.epo.org/service-support/upd ... 1103a.html.

Migration steps
While migrating to OPS version 3.2 you will be able to test your client code simply by updating the URLs used from https://ops.epo.org/3.1/rest-services to https://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services.

However, https://ops.epo.org/3.2/rest-services does not work. What should I do, to make it work?

Thank you very much!
Kind regards
Romina Mossi

It works, but you have to use your token as described in instructions on the page: https://developers.epo.org/

You cannot use it anonymously, not even for testing API Console

HI there,

We've been experiencing problems since the 29th/30th November and are unable to load any data from OPS (Image or Abstract only).

We are using version 3.1 and have authentication setup using our consumer key and consumer secret.

Has all access through 3.1 been discontinued and would we need to update to version 3.2?

Hi,

If you read announcements in this forum you know that we urge users to migrate to 3.2 since January already.
3.1 will be discontinued soon, so make sure to migrate asap.
