Version 5.05 server address information warning

Post by Mirjam » Fri Oct 05, 2012 3:20 pm

Yesterday I updated online filing (V5.04 tot 5.05) however it doesn't work anymore.
I can't get in the programme at all.

the following warning pops-up:

server address information
WARNING: SOAP onlu works with verdion 3 procedures, i.e. not with PCT.

o COBRA:
IP address: localhost
Port 11000
o SOAP:
IP address: localhost
Port 21000

I have 3 options: connect // save// cancel

Please help...

Dear Mirjam,
dear all,

We have noticed that in some rare cases, cause yet unknown, the services do not seem to not start automatically after the update.

In case of doubt, please restart the PC. The issue is a one off, potentially only occuring once after the update.

After restarting the pc I got the same message again.
My colleague restarted and the message was gone....

My other colleague didn't run the update yet because of the error.

so the error on my machine is not resolved yet,

Mirjam

I am having exactly the same problem.

Since auto updating to EPO Online Filing v5.05, I am unable to start the software. Every time I try I get to the window headed "server address information". When I click "connect" the window vanishes for a while, then re-appears. This happens multiple times and the program never loads past this screen. The same happens whether I select CORBA or SOAP.

My colleague cannot load v5.05 either.

Luckily we have one installation that does not auto update and still has v5.04. That works fine, but it is out-of-date and I am not sure what issues using an out of date version will cause (e.g. incorrect fees or forms).

Please help.

Dear Mirjam,

pleased to hear that the problem is solved.
As a matter of fact to install or update, administrator rights are required. We have noticed that are check to verify up front is not entirely foolproof, hence we'll improve that one to avoid that the issue goes unnoticed.

@all,

please make sure that the update is applied under an account which has full admin rights.
If the issue occurs then please re-apply the update when logged in to an account with administrators rights.

Our IT Department has now installed the v5.05 update manually with full adminstrator status, on top of the previous auto update installation of V5.05. As a result v5.05 now works. Thank you for your prompt advice. I don't wish to grumble, but for the future it would be useful if the auto update could be made to work automatically, as with previous updates. Otherwise the auto update feature will in fact be an auto disable feature, converting an old but working version of the software into a new but non-working version. Have a good weekend, John.
